Investment Team
Stephen Johnston
Stephen has over 15 years experience as a fund manager from both the private equity and debt markets perspectives. Stephen has a BSc (Honors in Biology) (1987) and a LLB from the University of Alberta (1990) and a MBA (1994) from the London Business School.

- Nexus Equity – principal of a £12 million early stage technology fund based in London, UK, sub-fund of GMT Partners ($1 billion TMT fund)
- European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – banker on the Telecommunications and Media Team, providing debt and equity financing to companies based in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union - participated in over $400 million in sovereign and private loan transactions
- AT Kearney - strategy consultant implementing risk management systems for Swedish investment banking clients with a focus on analyzing commercial real estate loan portfolios to quantify the accuracy of default risk metrics
- Baring Brothers – banker in the structured finance department
Harold Kunik
Harold has over 16 years experience in corporate turn-arounds and restructurings and as a private equity fund manager. Harold possesses two professional accounting designations, having obtained his Certified Management Accountant designation in Alberta in 1986 and his Chartered Accountant designation in New Zealand in 1992.
